Watched the movies for the first time ever last week, I'm obsessed

i know all the sherlock & co enjoyers are freaking out over “tell john i love him” but i think we should talk more about woman of the hour mariana ametxazurra. i LOVE when it gets to be her turn on the detective action so so much. also i’m obsessed with “together or not at all” & it furthers my thought that the emotional core of this adventure is how much all three of them love each other.

Everyone always says that Watson is the sun and Sherlock is the moon, but they are WRONG and here is why -

To start with the most obvious reason - Watson is, as Sherlock puts it, a conductor of light. He presents Sherlock Holmes to the world like an artist would a painting - if Watson was an illusrator he'd put a picture of Sherlock on every page of his books - and he basically already does in his descriptions.

Watson is also just very moon coded in general - his colours feel like a more warmish grey, and he has that relaxed old man vibe to him from time to time. Watsons character feels tied to how he cares for people and interacts with them, and I personally believe that to be a very moon-like quality.

Sherlock is also very sun coded - he shines brightly, and everyone notices him, but people can't truly see him with their bare eyes, he's misunderstood by many and can seem quite jarring. Sherlock accels in many areas, and people offen put him in a higher possision of importance compared to the moon. (But just like the moon, Watson is never fully forgotten in day-to-day conversation).

Sherlock cannot help but be the centre of attention due to his brightness.

People make the mistake of thinking sun = whoever is more bubbly and confident and moon = the shy, slightly grumpy one. And as much as I would ague this isn't always the case, I would like to mention that by that standard Sherlock still feels more sun-like and Watson still feels more moon-like.

People often forget that Sherlock isn't just a thinking mechine, he can be cheeky, theatrical, and Watson can often doubt his abilities and hide himself behind Sherlock's genius.

But either way you look at it - Sherlock amd Watson cannot truely shine to their full potential without each other.

*SHERLOCK & CO SPOILERS (The Empty House, episode 3)

It's not for everyone, but I love Sherlock & Co. I've also been going through a lot of stuff, and I was starting to fear my creative muse had abandoned me. But then I listened to the most recent podcast, and this idea has been lodged in my brain. The text between Mariana and Sherlock is from the Sherlock & Co transcripts, John's text is my own.

(I had surgery on April 10th, and am still not allowed to lift anything over 10 pounds... so I have 'real life' questions about John's endurance, but I'm choosing to suspend disbelief, and give my boy his heroic moment. Also, I LOVE how the third panel turned out.)

If you aren't a listener, what you need to know is that the show is ramping up to the confrontation between Sherlock and Moriarty. As an act of revenge, and to force Sherlock to back off, Sebastian Moran shot John in the chest and left him for dead (in the pod's adaptation of 'The Three Garridebs'). Sherlock and Mariana, with Stamford in tow, find John at the last minute, and he ends up in a coma (Mariana is the pod's 'Ms. Hudson,' Mary Morstan has already come and gone). 'The Empty House' episodes focus on Sherlock and Mariana tracking Moran. At the point in the episode where my illustration happens, DI Gregson has locked up Sherlock in a jail cell and hidden Mariana at a hotel in order to protect them from being murdered. Shortly after (of course Sherlock escapes, with help), Stamford goes to visit John, who he believes is still in a coma, but discovers he's missing from the hospital. If you're familiar with ACD's original 'The Empty House,' you will be familiar with the importance of the wax figure of Holmes.

Heyyy guys so small life update

Tldr: I'm busy, stressed, and want ideas for the Sherlock kiss meter

I suppose I posted Sherlock kiss meter at a bad time but I didn't know it'd be a bad time 😭

I'm breaking out really bad because of stress, I'm bursting at the seems. I only got to go out of town for 3 days for my birthday and now it's back to HELL

I'm working 3 jobs while having a screenwriting class, taking care of a puppy, taking care of myself, etc etc

It's awful, I have no time to draw and when I do; I'm so burnt out that nothing comes out right.

So I'm asking for your help! The next one up is Sherlock and Mariana, how should they interact? Only rule for this is it can't be explicitly romantic as the first kiss is coming up later :) but any other ideas go. Let me know!

The thing about Sherlock Holmes is that practically every adaptation you can think of has been done in some form. Every scenario, format, medium, it’s all there. He has at least three sisters, in varying levels of evilness. He’s been young, he’s been old, he’s been gay, straight, and aro/ace. He’s been Victorian, he’s been modern, he’s been a doctor, an asshole, a woman, a gnome. He’s been frozen in ice a la Steve Rogers and reanimated in the 21st century. He’s fallen off cliffs and in love. He’s thwarted every criminal known to man. He’s done quite literally everything there is to be done and yet there’s always, always more to write.

Hats off to you, Doyle, my admiration is yours, may you loath your own creation with all the vehemence with which we love him.

I got into college guys! I'm starting in the fall, very exciting :3

I've been taking a screenwriting class on my only days off from work so I haven't had time to draw anything

-Because Tomodachi life 2 came out and that's where I'm spending the little free time I have. I've made ACD Sherlock & John (though I'm gonna change them to be more modern when I add Mariana)

Sherlock and John are already dating!!

I also have Hatsune Miku and Rumi from Kpop demon hunters who got married after 2 days of dating. I have Zoey and Mira who I'm trying to pair together, but Zoey Mira and Rumi are all friends. My own mii and Sabrina Carpenter are crushing on each other & living together
