Day in Fandom History: June 13…

A shattered Team Squad is left reeling as Gary and Avocato head out to Invictus' inner sanctum to rescue Little Cato from Ash and Invictus while the rest of the crew power up the Hyper-Transdimensional Bridge once again. The Season 3 finale and the series finale (for now until the graphic novel's release), “The Devil’s Den”, premiered on this day, 5 Years Ago.

During the series Olan Rogers and David Sacks have had a message for the audience that speaks out against fate or predestination. And that something you were in the past need not be what you continue to be in the future. Don't forget something Sacks said in the BTS video from the end of season 2:

"And I think that’s a very important message we believe in. We want the audience to understand as well which is that you can always begin again. And you can begin again at any moment because the world itself is about beginnings."

In this moment he was talking about Sheryl. She unfairly blamed Gary for the loss of John and was even willing to hand Gary over to Todd Watson to be killed. But she is now on a different path.

Or look at Avocato. He may not have been granted supernatural powers but the Lord Commander gave him a fleet and he laid waste to whole worlds and probably killed millions. Because of his past, he thinks of himself as nothing more than a killer. But we can see he's now a loving and devoted father to his adopted son.

Or what about Gary? When he lost his father, when his mother abandoned him, when bullies killed his pet caterpillar Mooncake, we saw he was filled with hate, anger, and a desire for revenge and he became a criminal. He's no longer filled with these emotions and he's no longer a criminal. What if he had been gifted with supernatural powers at the lowest moment of his life? Would it have been as easy to let go of his hate and anger? Or would these feelings have been amplified?
