PET and MRI are two medical imaging techniques that are widely used to diagnose and monitor a range of health conditions. Time for a new segment on this blog called "The Differences Between" where I highlight the differences between US releases and their Japanese counterparts. Here is one of my favorite games for the NES: Contra. The Japanese version has several things that were left on the cutting room floor. Mainly of note is an introductory cutscene, which is seen above.
You also get enhanced graphics in the Famicom version because of an extra chip built-in to the game. In the first level, you'll notice swaying trees in the background. In the US release, those trees are stationary.
On top of those is the inclusion of a map of the island you're invading that is displayed between each level.
I hope to do this blog more frequently because I always find the differences between US and Japanese games to be so interesting.
One big difference between Tumblr and Facebook. If you're stalking someone's blog and 'accidentally' like or reblog something from a month ago, it's not weird.
