amidst the eccentricity and oddity of the relationship, there had been that spark of genuine moments, expressed in a way only he knew how. in the strangest of long days, shoji had been a companion that evaporated the invisible cloak of loneliness he'd forgotten he was wearing, and had worn for years on end. perhaps, it was truly the first time, he properly understood a semblance of a friend in shoji, albeit being a tad too late.
