Daminette headcanon - Comfort
Damian is emotionally constipated because of his childhood and Marinette represses all her emotions due to a certain emotional terrorist. So when Mari eventually breaks down (which she will) Damian won’t really know how to comfort her.
Talia (even if you believe her to be a good mother) wouldn’t be able to protect Damian from the rest of the league’s attitude to ‘weaker’ emotions. Toxic masculinity = no crying for Damian = him having no clue what to do with a crying bugnette.
What I believe he would do:
He wouldn’t say much, if anything at all. He would hold Mari in his lap, arms wrapped tightly around her. Hand rubbing her back, her head tucked into his neck/chest. If Damian can’t provide verbal comfort you better believe that he will provide any amount of physical comfort for his beloved.
Now on the flip side. Marinette comforting Damian.
Oh BOY. She would burrito wrap the Ice Prince in a blanket and bake so many comfort foods. She would probably put time into finding Arabic foods that he enjoys (Damian probably prefers savoury foods to sweet). Mari wouldn’t say “everything’s going to be ok”, it would be more like a “I’m here” or “I’ve got you”.
The aftermath would end with them both having messy hair, misty eyes, pink cheeks and held close to their love. Not everything will be ok, they are both hurt, emotionally challenged teenagers who struggle to process situations well. Not everything will be ok but they’ll have each other.
