The Five Wives Charmed AU

Post Fury Road high right now, so I thought I’d do my own personal theories on the activities of the wives and Furiosa post-citadel capturing

Toast becomes a leader among the remaining parties of War Boys, and heads the raids. On Fury Road she discovered herself, her penchant for weapons, and though terrified there was an addictive adrenaline to the journey. The citadel reminds her too much of Joe. In its halls she will only ever see herself as property. On the Road she is free. She becomes as respected an Imperator as Furiosa was, and everyone from Gas Town to the edges of the salt fears when she is on a warpath.

Capable remains for as long as she can. She tries to help the War Pups to the best of her ability, hoping to raise them to better. But in their honest hopeful eyes, she sees too much of Nux. In the end she too finds that she cannot remain in the citadel. She rides out with Melita and any willing females they can find among the Nursers and Wretched, hoping to refound the Cult of Many Mothers. She stops by every few moons or so to resupply and to see if the others have need of her.

The Dag gives birth to a healthy baby girl, and though when she’s pitching a fit there are times when a dangerous tyrant gleams from within, there is so little of Immordan Joe in her that one can’t help but wonder if the girl is entirely of her mother. She uses the seeds to form a greenhouse. She heads the growth of crops, regulating its rotation and care every year, but her treasures are her experiments, her new ways of treating the plants. The only ones allowed in her personal greenhouse are her daughter, Cheedo, and a few of the Wretched and Nursers she deems “worthy”. No man will ever set foot in it.

Cheedo, gentle, fearful Cheedo, becomes the new leader of their people. Formerly Wretched, she does as much as she can to improve their lives, to the point where Joe and his terrors feel like little more than a bad dream. She keeps up the strong bargaining relationships Joe once had, on better terms. She rules with wisdom and kindness. She is also the only Wife to ever remarry.

Furiosa.......she stays for months before the restlessness overcomes her. She does not belong. The citadel is not her home. It was her prison, and she cannot see it as anything else, try as she might. The Cult of Many Mothers is no longer her home.Though the invitation remains perpetually open to her, she cannot accept. That Furiosa, the initiate daughter of Katie Concannon, the child of Mary Jobassa.....she died a long time ago, and she can’t even remember when. In the end, she packs up a car and tells Cheedo that she will come any time there is need of her, before disappearing into the wastes. 

She wanders alone before by chance running into Max again. Without either ever discussing it, they end up partnering once more, this time on a more permanent basis. Its a functional relationship. They talk little, touch less. Except at night, when the nightmares return, and they wake up screaming, sweating, whimpering.....they will feel the other’s strong hand on their shoulder and meet a pair of eyes so understanding they may as well be a mirror.

And every child grows up knowing of the Mad Furies, a pair of warriors that are sometimes summoned by Lady Cheedo, only to vanish into the wastes, leaving behind only the bodies of the scum that dare harass the Free Peoples of the Citadel.

Max made quite a first impression on the girls, didn't he?
