Reading an annabeth callout post full offense but this is the funniest bullshit I have seen in my life. In addition to blaming Annabeth for being born and inflicting herself on her innocent father, you get gems such as

Thinks again about how the Spiral avatars have such a loose relationship with selfhood that it actually allows them to enjoy who they are, vs Jon's constant hyperanalysis about whether or not this is the Real Jon or simply a distorted monster. Thinking about how in some sense a conscience is a facet of selfhood, a boundary of what you would and would not do. Thinks about how so many Fears work in depersonalization, and that comes in many, many flavors.

Thoughts on the Vast’s “Great Beast”

Ok SO. MAG 174 gave an EXTREMELY thorough portrait of the Vast as an entity. Many of the themes/fears had been touched upon in earlier episodes, but one thing that hadn’t been that hit me like a ton of bricks was the “great beast” of the episode title being entirely made up of people.

Some of you guys forget that Beel canonically has a pretty short temper (and is prone to make rash decisions as a result of it) when it comes to the things he cares about and it REALLY shows. I dont know where the uwu bean characterization came from but its really not reflective of the personality we see in game. He's less outwardly aggressive than a lot of his brothers but largely because he tends to restrict his energy to his workouts, caring for the people in his immediate circle, and staving off his own hunger. Beel cares a lot about MC and doesnt make a secret of it, but its loyalty that has to be earned first. He's not stupid and he's not really soft, not in the way we tend to characterize him. Ultimately he's just a very straightforward person, who doesnt see the point in exaggerating his own emotional reactions just for the sake of intimidation.

To this I say: that's what the uwu bean characterisation is for. He's precious and gets upset easily when it comes to protecting what he cares about and I do believe this all derives from Lilith's death so

Hello! I enjoyed your "Castlevania isnt over bit" because its hella true. S3, to me, feels like a big set up for S4 which could very well be an epic finale to the whole show but to get from point A to point B we need to know happens in between. S3 is just the start to something really awesome and im excited.

It was just bewildering to me when I stepped into the castlevania tag after binging s3. Like I expected some of the usual upset intrinsic in having your faves suffer but then I noticed a bewildering amount of takes about how this was on the writers, or “there’s no way they can make season 4 after this” or shit like that that just had me ????

So yeah. Also eagerly awaiting s4, both for more sweet vampire content and for the inevitable vindication.

Friendly reminder: Castlevania is not over yet. You can’t say “Alucard deserved better” yet because we have not seen his ultimate fate

Yes he’s in a bad place right now but why the fuck would that make us assume he will never be in a good place ever again. It’d be like only watching to the end of Avatar season two and being like “so Zuko really just betrayed his uncle? Iroh deserved better I hate these writers they just want to see him suffer 😭😭😭”

It’s a story. More than that it’s an incomplete story. Bad things are supposed to happen. And while there’s definitely a scale of how bad it can get before it becomes unappealing to the viewer, leaving everyone but Isaac in miserable circumstances is not a flaw of the writing. It’s a sign that we’re at the darkest hour of the narrative. I swear half the people in this fandom either have no imagination or no understanding of how stories work. This show has been many things but it has never been just straightforward misery porn. It’s message has never been everything sucks forever goodbye. It has always been about the willingness to take your trauma and adapt to it. To use it as a powerful tool to fix things. And mark my words, season 4 will be about the slow climb back up for everyone

Thinking again about how hostile as a narrative Homestuck is to characters that need community as a vital part of their process. About how characters like Gamzee, Jade, Eridan, Jake, and Tavros, all had loneliness at the core of their brokenness, and yet all of them are treated as weird or clingy or creepy by everyone who they try to reach out to, thus reinforcing the idea that they don't deserve to have people in their life who care about them. Which in turn only renews their efforts to try and be worthy of being liked, which only makes them more overbearing and uncomfortable to be around for the other characters.

A New Phase

Hey All

I don’t need to be the one to tell you that its been quiet for a while. The writing juice just has not been flowing for Undertale recently. That’s not to say it never will again! I have, however….found an adjacent hyperfixation

So, two new things will be taking place from here on out.
