i need more people to know about one of the best batman villians ever;

the flamingo!

like i mean, come on he's pratically the anti batman and i love him for it. he's pink and sparkly and only speaks in incoherent noises and eats people's faces! and the fact that he has connections to professor pyg and the circus of strange like, i can not understate how much i wish we had more flamingo

Actually, Beware the Batman might have been the only animated batman show i feel could feasibly have worked in characters like Victor Zsasz. They already had Professor Pyg and some other really freaky ones, what's impossible about Zsasz? Honestly, that show probably would have done Preston Payne as Clayface, too. A weird man who melts people and loves a mannequin is disturbing, but I feel like that show would've done it. I could even see some of those other really freaky ones, like The Flamingo or whatever. I'm not saying I would have loved it if they played it straight, but the show never did. They found ways to sanitize characters while keeping some of that darkness.

Instead of being an animalistic cannibal, a character like Flamingo could've just been a flamboyant spanish mercenary with a love for violence. I don't love the show (because again, I prefer my stuff to be sillier and lighter), but I could imagine some concepts for a season 2. It's not too hard, because the show was basically dark but not too dark. And I can work in that sphere. I can't work in the world of that new adult batman animated show, because that's too much. But I can work in the world of Beware the Batman. I kind of wish we could get some sort of conjoined retrospective on the three batman shows of the 2000s and 2010s, but I can save that thought for another time.

One of the many things I liked about staying at the Hilton Grand Vacations Flamingo was that even if the hotel itself is kind of bland, I liked being so close to The Flamingo’s amenities. Their main pool was under construction when I was there, but I was able to visit the flamingo sanctuary several times and walk around the grounds in general. 

I’m in no rush to stay at The Flamingo--it’s not called “the dirty bird” for nothing--but I can’t stop looking at the great signage all over the building.

Not far from the wildlife habitat is a little memorial set up for The Flamingo’s founder, Bugsy Siegel. It’s definitely an interesting story--one that has been made into movies, no less--and it’s wild to know that he was gunned down in Beverly Hills at the age of 41 for reasons no one knows even to this day.  Damn, this makes me want to watch Casino again really soon!
