Hopefully S4 leads to Barry being HAPPY. He was very happy early this season, because despite FP, the team was a cohesive unit again and he finally got to be with the love of his life, Iris West. Next season, I need him to use his brain more in and outside of CCPD and plan that wedding with Iris. (I see Barry being a groomzilla. LOL!)
I have seen this groomzilla comment more than once on other blogs, and I can def get onboard with it. Lol. Despite the fact that the show made absolutely no effort to make their first time sex a big deal, they did make their first date a big deal, so I can absolutely see Barry flipping out over wedding details. Maybe him and Joe could team-tag and even get into minor hissy-fits over who has the better idea and which one should be used. Lmao. And Iris just walks into a room and they’re brooding in opposite corners, and she’s like “uhhh…”
I could see Barry being all “I just want to be married to Iris” too though, so whichever way it goes, I’m good with.
As for everything else you said? YES. 100%. The last six eps of s2 were SO DARK. They promised us this season would be lighter. While we’ve had a few light episodes here and there, it hasn’t been consistent. 3x01 was light for about half of it. 3x02 was dark for almost all of it. 3x03-3x05ish were fairly light, but 3x06-3x08 were mostly dark, and once Barry found out about the future we pretty fell off a steep cliff into nothingness. Maybe fire and brimstone is at the bottom. Can’t be sure yet. 3x14 was a lighter ep, as was 3x17 obvs. But they are few and far between. Arrow is supposed to be the dark show, not Flash. They need to get that light back. This needs to be the last really dark arc these writers do, b/c people don’t just tune in for the characters and relationships, they tune in for the tone of the show and the quality, both of which are lacking or going haywire this season.
Hopefully all of that improves next season. I’m always missing CSI!Barry. I think it’d be super cool to see him use that brain of his instead of just his speed b/c that’s part of what made him awesome even before he got hit by lightning. So yeah. No complaints here if we see CSI!Barry for more than just discovering a body at the beginning (or end) of an episode.
