I absolutely fucking love the writing for Gabriel though like??
He OPENS with "lemma tell ya, whoever said Dean was the dysfunctional one has never seen you with a sharp object in your hands. Holy 'Full Metal Jacket'!" which I cannot stop laughing about
But his whole speech about not bringing Dean back gives me so much to chew on especially now looking at it through the lens of Gabriel telling Sam what he wishes someone told him when Lucifer fell
"His soul's downstairs doing the hellfire rumba as we speak" feels like a coping mechanism
The look on Gabriel's face when Sam asks him to take them back to the Tuesday/Wednesday it all started. The way you can just see how he wishes HE could go back before his brother was no longer his brother.
"This obsession to save Dean. The way you two keep sacrificing yourselves for each other. Nothing good comes out of it! Just blood and pain. Dean's your weakness. The bad guys know it, too. It's gonna be the death of you, Sam. Sometimes, you just gotta let people go."
"He's my brother."
"Yup. And like it or not, this is what life's gonna be like without him."
TELL ME THIS ISNT GABRIEL PROJECTING. TELL ME. YOU CANT.
But just knowing what I know now this episode hits so much harder
Thrilled and delighted to find that She Who Became The Sun has a little fandom chilling on tumblr, y’all are the best
Nah because you know what really fucks me up? Even when Hamlet was in the depths of utter despair, he still had Horatio AND Ophelia. And, even if they weren’t on the best of terms, he also had his mom.
Laertes? Ophelia was already long gone, so no comfort there. He didn’t seem to have any friends in Elsinore, and well…his mom clearly isn’t in the picture.
Hamlet, even if what he was going through sucked, at least still had people who loved him and rooted for him to keep going. Laertes, from the time Ophelia dies, is utterly alone. Even before Hamlet stabs him with the poisoned sword, he was already a dead man walking.
Laertes is what would happen if Hamlet truly was as alone as he thought he was. A machine bent on revenge, forgetting the love where that vengeance stemmed from.
i don’t have a choice but i still choose you.
like honestly.. roger and rafa.... the parallels... no cinema could compare..
