Draw Everything June: Day 13
I was real, real stumped on what to do with this pose so I ultimately decided I would throw my hands up, go back to my roots, and simply: Make It Jeff Goldblum. Thus we have: Ian Malcolm and the Gamemaster, teaming up to conquer evil together.
Do either of them fly? Eh. Irrelevant. They're Jeff Goldblum, they'll get the job done.
Honestly, drawing this makes me realize I have been remiss and not done unnecessary Jeff Goldblum fanart in way too long (LO, once upon a time, I produced SO MUCH of it). Do folks even know that I'm One Of Those Gays? Shame on me. I should fix that.
I'm making it worse. The mind control thingy slowly fades, like, really slowly, but this was an expected thing, so whoever is in charge of Astral (GM? Or someone else? idk) subtly manipulates her at the same time. Off hand comments about how well she fits in with them, how strong she is, how unfair it is to compare her to anyone else when she's such a unique person, with so much going for her... how sad it is that no seems to have looked for her... targeting her insecurities so as the more exploit based control fades, the emotional manipulation strengthens. I'm thinking Astral doesn't know that the Eye is expecting the mind control to fade, so she's been pretending to not have recovered at all in order to plan an escape, but the manipulation happening slowly sets in until she starts to think it might be okay to just keep pretending. I mean, no one knows she's gaining back control... so if she just never revealed it... well, no one could fault her for it... she can pretend it's not a complete betrayal against everything she used to stand for. meanwhile, the Light eventually finds out the truth about what happened to Astral (just figuring it all out is an entire story on its own) and are working to find a way to get rid of the mind control, not knowing it's not permanent. the Eye just feeds Astral's insecurities while continuing to treat her as a favored member, trying to secure her loyalty before the Light can find her and resolve the situation. -Anon S.
love how you show up once a month right when im about to go to sleep and bless us all with beautoufl astralq2 torture /pis (pos pos not piss what the flip) /vpos
no cuz astral is like. PRETTY gullible. not stupid, just. easily trusting. so i can imagine that half mind controlled, half free astral could generally easily be convinced that what the eye is doing is Good and that they light is Bad (i dont think gm would pull some "we're saving the server" bs like they fully acknowledge that theyre evil in canon, but i think it could convince astral to "be [her] own person")
personally, i think the "nobody cared to look for you" comments would hit the hardest because its pretty clear that astral Cares about the light, and expects them to care about her all the same. but.. at the same time.. those are the still the same people who hurt her. who destroyed her base. who forgot about her completely... since gm knows a shit ton about the server, wouldnt it know about Those events? thats legit free leverage right there. "your 'friends' havent changed, they wont cone looking for you. they couldnt care if you lived or died. but We care. The Eye sees all, and He sees how you hurt. He will be there for you." or some cultish shit you know ??
thats also a cult tactic in general. manipulate someone at their lowest because theyre more gullible and complicit, looking for stability and comfort. its not completely impossible for the eye to employ this tactic on astral even without the mind control (the mind control DOES help a little since she Was so strong in her belief that the eye was bad. which wouldnt make for a good member.)
I redid The Gamemaster, who is the big bad in a thing my bestie and I made for our Beforus fantrolls.
The Devil Arcana fits him extremely well.
Pressure OC alert!
This is Nori
She is a mix of various squids. Vampire squid, Bigfin squid, The Humboldt Squid, and Squiddle Urbanshade wanted to see if it was possible to make a vertebrate into an invertebrate while it worked, she became extremely hostile. She lurks in the dark rooms of the blacksite, stalking Expendables, waiting to ambush them. You don't see her until it's too late. This bitch is a sadistic bastard and is built like an enderman 💀.
Nori is not only extremely hostile she is extremely intelligent. Urbanshade decided that it was too much of a risk to recapture her or stop her.
I made a blog for her its @theblacksitesjigsaw
Her personality was heavily inspired from Ruin when he still had the virus
Her mechanic was inspired by Moon in Security Breach. Also inspired by Jigsaw
If she sounds terrifying, then that means I've written her character well. She is meant to be terrifying.

yknow, I think gamemaster doesn't actually kill everyone who loses, or that'd mean it's killing one Minecraft player every single week which is. Noticeable. I think they do steal something from everyone who loses, but it isn't always their soul/life. It isn't even always something that person themselves values- it could take anything, really. Memories, senses, a body part, certain virus immunities, parts of vocabulary, skills, vocal qualities, colours, understanding of specific concepts... Literally anything is up for grabs. It purely takes whatever it finds most appetising in that moment. The only thing it doesn't take is physical objects belonging to the person.
Many people may never even realise it took something. They might just become a bit more forgetful, or get ill more easily, or find themselves losing interest in a show they've loved for a long time. Other people are less lucky, and wake up missing an organ or an important sense, if they wake up at all.
None of them remember the game, of course. That's a privilege afforded only to the winners and those who return to play again, or those who've escaped before their game concluded. At the moment, only Mai belongs to the second category, while Mousse and Lessi belong to the third. There are other winners out there who remember, but none managed to record it. It's not impossible to record, but if the gamemaster realises there's a recording being made, it'll corrupt it, so you have to do it in a way they haven't thought of before.
