Finally realized I should share it on Tumblr, but I’ve got this Skyrim fic centered around Sissel getting herself a decent family starting with a dragon grandpa. Just completed the third and final chapter so you can binge the full thing in like an hour and not have to wait months for me to update.

I have a theory. Headcanon. Whatever. This is more in particular to her than Esbern or the Blades in general.

I’ve always found it weird how she essentially has no respect for you, talks down to you, bosses your ass around despite you basically being the savior of the world (and Esbern), and despite being sworn to protect and serve you, does neither. 

Her demanding you kill Paarthurnax because “killing dragons is what we do” (among his relationship with Alduin) and refusing to back down despite you trying to vouch for him, I have to ask how much she trusts you. She literally puts the importance of killing Paarthurnax over guiding and protecting you, and turns her back on you if you don’t.

A soul of a dragon in a mortal body is still the soul of a dragon on the end. Maybe she doesn’t trust you won’t give into your dragon-ish ways of domination. Or maybe she’s just an asshole! Anyways, enjoy.
