"You is kind, you is smart, you is important."
the help is the most heartbreaking and beautiful movie.
(wouldn't mind reading the book either.) kinda opens up your eyes, at how far we have come, and how far we have to go.
The Help.
I have never cried so much during a movie. I guess I feel genuine empathy for the characters portrayed in this story-line. Despite this being a fictional movie for all I know, I couldn’t stop tearing. The scene where Skeeter’s mom forced Constantine out of the house. Boy that sure hit the spot. Maybe I have a real soft spot for the elderly cause I just burst into tears when I saw the eager look on Constantine’s face to stay. It’s like she’s saying After all these years of working with the family, I would hope I had become a part of the family as well.So heartbreaking but overall, I love how inspirational and touching this movie was. Very well recommended and I’d bet if I were to re-watch this movie a thousand times again, I’d still cry like a baby.
"They don't like you because they think you white trash."
You is kind. You is smart. You is important.
After watching the movie, I was wondering what would other white people think or feel about the subject. I wondered if they will feel the same way as I do, hopeful and touched. I was wondering if they will still hold onto the stubborn prejudice they have for black people, unfair and cruel. I wondered if they were not raised by the black maids, would they feel the same way as the generation that was raised by the black maids. I wondered if the generation gap would be a determining factor of how the white supremacist view the maid who raised their parents.
Then I realized, it doesn't matter because what touched all of us was the simple beauty of human nature. The subject matter plays no role in the post-effects of this movie. What's in the bottom of our heart matters the most. That tender heart of all of us, as humans on this earth. What touched us was our moral, our courage, and everything we learned and once knew. It was a gentle reminder of what we are, a call of human beauty.
"we have lost courage for a generation, and thank you for bring it back to this family."
