Rolling Stone premieres the video for Neil Hagerty’s The Howling Hex “Lies”

“When Fat Possum Records gave Neil Hagerty the finances to record his most recent record as Howling Hex, he made a pledge. “Everyone in the Midwest is walking around high and dying on OxyContin,” Hagerty tells Rolling Stone. “[I told the label] that I would just drive around in the Midwest for 200 days next year with this new band the Howling Hex. Because this fits the times. It’s a mess out there.” Watch HERE

Heard the Royal Trux are releasing a new album after 19 long years. Here’s our pal Neil Michael Hagerty, 1/2 of the Trux, playing an early live session with his band The Howling Hex. This happened at Ruhstaller Farm near Davis CA. This one is a bluesy, psych, hootenanny for sure.

“Sewers of Mars” (Live 2016) - Royal Trux

Royal Trux alert! For a limited time, check out a live mixed version of Thank You’s classic “Sewers of Mars” performed by the reunited Trux ... recently! I don’t know when. It is killer. Not sure how much activity the band has planned for the rest of the year (they’re set to play at the upcoming Austin Levitation festival, but that’s it). However! Neil Michael Hagerty’s Howling Hex have a new one on the way -- Denver -- and they’re touring Europe soon. As a Colorado resident, I approve of the title ... but when is the Denver show? Red Rocks this summer?!
