So listen to the voice on the telephone line,
it's somebody who needs you and your heart can't be far from mine.
I'm super super proud to share this commission from the AMAZING @izzy-g-art of my lovesick-but-loved goat Garth!
Poem written by me, but inspired hugely by Movie Theme by Beck (go listennnn it's one of my fav songs ever <3)
It's also Garth's birthday today, Jan 16 - maybe there's a birthday wish for him on the line :)
(Psst, check out his new site here!)
V: Data that’s on the chip – what is it?
Evelyn: Irrelevant. Entirely.
HOLD UP
WAIT A MUNITE
ARE YOU-
ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT-
That Raiden Shogun created a puppet through a technology “lost to time”
A technology I swear to god belonged to Khaenri’ah though I have no proof
Could it be that Rhinedottir used the very same technology to create Albedo??? All I’m saying is
If we listen to Yae, the technology that Raiden used may be divided into 2 parts: body and consciousness. In Raiden’s case, her mind is tied to her sword (at least that’s how I understood it from the story), so in Scaramouche’s case there should also be something to which someone’s consciousness is tied (whose? a whole other research topic, glad you asked. From the way he speaks about wishes of humanity, I'd say... He comes from the most depressed part of Raiden's consciousness? But at the same time, I don't think a consciousness is something one can split, furthermore, he was supposed to be just a test to be discarded in the end. I doubt that Raiden, even if she could, would share her consciousness with something so... non-eternal).
Then, the same should be said for Albedo, in other words, there should be someone’s consciousness tied to something inside the body, created by Rhinedottir. And I think that in his case, it could be remains of Durin’s consciousness, or all of it. Durin’s body is well-preserved (the bones, the heart, the crystallized blood (yes I do believe that the agates are drops of blood, moving on)) in the snow, so who said that his spirit is not. Besides, Durin himself could be a similar experiment - the creation of a conscious being from way way back, which means it would be easy for Rhinedottir, a skilled alchemist, to work with the remains of his consciousness (and that is why Albedo is so self-conscious about his own actions. He... remembers, probably.)
And what I lead to is that somehow, in the end, Albedo and Scaramouche can be tied with one another. Absolutely fantastic.
Godness gracious I need to go and touch some grass don’t I-
