The Integratron
The Integratron
The Integratron was started in 1957 by George Van Tassel near Joshua Tree, who claimed it was capable of rejuvenation, anti-gravity and time travel. Today, it's open to visitors who can partake in meditative soundbaths in the middle of the California desert.

So-o-o-o, ya’know after Calvin labeled his entry hall "The Integratron”, I had to google it & found out about this interesting place in Landers, CA.
Construction began in 1954 from the design of aeronautical engineer and ufologist, George Van Tassel, who built the dome after allegedly receiving instructions from extraterrestrials from Venus known as “The Council of Seven Lights.” During this UFO encounter, Van Tassel claims that he was invited aboard a Venusian spaceship and given explicit instructions on how to create a machine that could rejuvenate living cell tissues.
Van Tassel chose the Integratron’s site due to its supposedly powerful geomagnetic energy (though there is no scientific evidence of any such energy), which he believed could be amplified within a wooden parabolic structure. As such, the building was constructed without the use of any nails, consisting only of plywood and fiberglass held together by wood dowels and a 1.5-ton cement ring serving as the keystone. Using these materials, and influenced by the theories of Nikola Tesla and sacred geometry, Van Tassel believed that the Integratron was more than a building and would serve as a combination of a time machine, rejuvenation machine, and an anti-gravity device.
Holy Tao! Far-out! I bet Calvin has been there! From another site, I got this explanation of a Sound Bath:
The Integratron’s Signature Experience “It’s kindergarten naptime for grown ups in a sound sphere”
This is an unforgettable sound experience for those who seek deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and introspection. All Sound Baths are 60-minute sonic healing sessions that consist of:
a brief introduction to the Integratron and its history and sound qualities,
30 minutes of quartz crystal bowls played live, and
the balance of the hour to integrate the sound and relax in the sound chamber to ambient music.
You will be resting comfortably in the deeply resonant, multi-wave sound chamber while a sequence of quartz crystal singing bowls are played, each one keyed to the energy centers or chakras of the body, where sound is nutrition for the nervous system. The results are waves of peace, heightened awareness, and relaxation of the mind and body.
I tend to forget Calvin is a mystical seeker of quasi-scientific alternatives to conventional so-called “wisdom”. In many ways, he’s a practical traditionalist. But then... he’s not.
Last week, part of team Pro-Ject made a trip to Landers, CA, and "The Integratron". This is a one-of-a-kind experience, that we had to take part in. The Integratron was funded by Howard Hughes, and "is based on the design of Moses’ Tabernacle, the writings of Nikola Tesla and telepathic directions from extraterrestrials".
The building is made with no metal whatsoever, and is a dome structure which supports sound in the best possible way. Visitors can reserve spaces for a "Sound Bath" session, in which a guide uses quartz bowls and a wand to create soothing and intense sounds that make their way around the room, while the subject (you) sprawl on a mat and blanket, and take in the experience.
This is a true sound healing and cymatic experience. Once done, you feel light, airy and purged of much that is not needed.
