Ruhstaller’s Old Soul The Kenyan (Picked up at Whole Foods in Berkeley). A 4 of 4. This has one of the best integrations of coffee in a red ale that I’ve had. Really bright and powerful coffee notes in the nose - some roast, some fruit, and some bitter coffee notes. The body has a decent amount of caramel/toffee sweetness in it to help balance the bitterness - this is quite easy-drinking and has some great nuance to the coffee. Nice thicker body that helps carry it all, and it leaves a nice coffee presence on your palate. Great stuff.
