so Zagreus, Priapus, and Dionysus lore
they both used to be one being, a two headed snake that wandered into the Underworld. when exposed to the powers of the death gods, the heads split off from each other, one becoming Zagreus, the other becoming Dionysus. Zagreus is a humanoid serpent, resembling his old snake form much more than Dionysus, who looks more human albeit with reptile scales adorning his body, slitted pupils, and a flexible tail.
Zagreus is a hunt god, a master of the bow. he is jovial and takes pleasure in hunting for both sport and food. he is usually kind, but he can be cruel and sometimes described as a savage, known for tearing into the raw flesh of his prey. he savors feasts of meat and scavenged herbs and fruits.
Dionysus can be likened to the feasting after a good hunt if compared to his other half. a reveler, he finds joy in feeding his inner indulgent self, most known by mortals for his love of high quality alcoholic beverages, which can be used as sacrifices to gain his favor. he may also be associated with sexual aspects of merrymaking, and Dionysus values good, consensual fun above all that benefits all involved parties.
Priapus is the son of Dionysus. his maternal lineage is unknown, most say it's Aphrodite, but he himself was mainly raised by the people of a farming village long ago. his father's revelry was passed down to him somewhat, becoming one of the gods associated with sexuality. he is a god of fertile lands and good fortune, especially to merchant sailors, and his form is similar to a satyr. he is a kind and compassionate god, often being the guardian of livestock and fields, but can have a short temper if he is crossed. the fact that he trained the god Ares in the ways of war should say enough about his own strength and martial prowess.
