How do you think the Donnas from your two fics would fair if Laundry Maiden and Headlock Wife switched places for the day? 🤔
Honestly I've tried to write her as the same Donna, just in two different scenarios 🤔
Donna is much more patient with Laundry Maid because Maid's employment at the manor was a mutually agreed upon decision and Maid's personality (sweet and naive) makes her seem less threatening to Donna. The difference in position (a lady and her maid) keeps them both comfortably knowing their roles in the beginning when they're still getting to know each other.
Donna clashes a lot more with Headlock Wifey because the arranged marriage was something that neither of them wanted and Wifey's personality (a bit abrasive and not naive) creates tension whenever they interact. In this case they are placed into positions that should be equal (wives) but in reality Donna still has more sway in the relationship which creates a power imbalance that I tried to write as feeling a bit uncomfortable. It takes a lot longer for any significant relationship progress to be made in this one.
But anyway, if Maid and Wifey somehow switched places for a day, I imagine either way Donna wouldn't really know how to interact with them. Headlock Donna would probably be a bit disarmed by Maid's sweetness but would not try to avoid her. Laundry Donna would probably try to avoid Wifey by hiding in her workshop or something though 🫠
Someone commented on the first chapter of Headlock that everything was "backwards and fucked up" and that's honestly the vibe I've been trying to capture ever since for that fic.
