Too many favorite photos to choose from of these two! More and most importantly, it is their day! Happiest of Anniversaries to Anne and Tim!
Tim's father, who died in 1982 of leukaemia, was 32 years older than his wife when they married. The former naval commander brought up Tm and his elder brother, Jonathan, in the only way he knew - strictly and according to the book. But the family, and especially young Tim, were liked by neighbours. Mr and Mrs Robin Patchell, who were neighbours in Ightham, Kent, from the time the Laurences moved to the village from their rented home in Edenbridge in 1958, said: "He was so well mannered, so polite and so well brought up. He hasn't changed. Princess Anne is a very lucky woman."
Evening Standard 11 December 1992
There’s an interview of John Legend on Ellen, where they’re talking about John’s children and then Ellen said almost like an insult that his daughter was like a mini Chrissy but John is so in love that he thought that was a compliment and he puts the most proud face like yeah my daughter is exactly like her mother and I can’t ask for more.
You know what that remembered me? You danm right. The scene in the attic when Jo ask Laurie if Amy didn’t bother him with her preening and he answer: Yes, but I like that.
HE. LIKES. THAT.
The things some other people like Jo find annoying about Amy, LAURIE LOVES THEM.
HE LOVES THEM.
He not only loves them but he is proud of it.
And the best part of all it’s that scene is Canon. So let me retry slowly and let you think about it.

Amy: I guess we could get more involved in the Bess’s activities, but then I’d be afraid of smothering her.
Laurie: Yes, and then we’d get the chair.
Amy: That’s not what I meant.
Laurie: It was, Amy. Admit it.

Was on holiday and flipping through a few books in a local book shop and ran across these comments:
- "The Laurences appear to be the ideal couple."
- "It's not unusual for Tim to tell his wife to calm down if he thinks she's going a bit over the top, even when others are present; something Mark Phillips would not have dreamt of doing."
- "He (Mark) did not seem to realize that The Princess needed, and still needs, a man who will stand up to her, and this is where Tim Laurence scores heavily over Mark ."
Always a day for appreciation of The Laurences, and never a time to pass up a slight jab for the one before. 😏😅
