don't mean to be rude but can i ask what exactly would make any robert redemption satisfying and 'good enough' to you, how would you have it be done? and do you think you're in a positition where you can be receptive to any redemption of his? (i say this because you seem to have deep issues and resentment towards the character so maybe you don't want him to be redeemed at all?)
lol dw i love getting asks like this! i do think i would be receptive to a redemption, because if my experience between ‘15-’16 is anything to go by, i went from being pretty unable to imagine tolerating rbron together romantically from a moral pov to being excited when they finally reunited. the reason redemptions tend to feel shallow or not ‘good enough’ a lot of the time is that they (a) never explicitly address the stuff the character is meant to be getting forgiven for -- and not just addressed by the character who did it, but by the characters who were victims of it as well. and (b) if they do, the character often doesn't actually appear to be putting the lessons into practice. i dont feel like they got past step (a) the first time around with robert. I've been railing about it since the dawn of time but the only way i will ever be fully satisfied with a redemption and not unsettled by a reunion is if they finally address the lodge.
