Only because @hollywoodddd tagged me..
Im sorry for not tagged any people im a shy bitch that doesn’t really talk to people 💀
There is something strangely poetic about the futility of trying to take a picture of the full moon with your phone. A reminder, first of all, that beauty surrounds us. The moon is often full. In your life you have seen it and you will again see it, as full as it is at its most full. And yet to look upon her face is so captivating. We are mesmerised by the way that she shines, resplendent and clear and perfect.
The instinct of a creature raised on hunting is capture. To see this thing that so holds me captive and want to take it captive for myself. And if my spear is not long enough to throw and my net is not wide enough to cast, I reach into my pocket for my most modern moment hunter. And we all know the result. To the common camera, the moon's face is just a spotlight. Yellow and indistinct, instantly robbed of all her beauty by the act of taking the picture. And it is not the lack of resolution but the audacity that does it. That you would even try to tame the moon and keep it with you. For shame!
But how else are we to comfort ourselves? We reach for the captured image because it hurts us to know that beauty is fleeting. That the moon will set, and wane, and take her light from us until she comes again. It is not enough for there to be a next time: we cannot bear to see her go. But if you let your breaking heart speak, it will tell you that it knows the solution.
You can look. You can with your eyes and see her there, and step out of your window with a glass of wine or a cigarette, and toast until the glass is empty and the dawn has come. All days end and all nights end, but they only do so once they've ended. Until then, the moon is rising. Say hello.
viola idk if u already answered that but does anyone calls the luna by her name?
Her very close immediate family does in private occasionally and (in general) the mate of a Luna will refer to her by her name (also in private).
However no one else will. Her name is not a secret or anything. But she is THE LUNA and she is primarily referred to by her title out of respect.
Hey beautiful 💜 My question is: Can there be more than one Luna in the world at a time? If not, does she have special respect over other packs, as well? I just wanted a little more Intel on her importance separate from the Alpha's. Also, a question for Jimin 😏 How nervous are you right now on a scale from 1 to the world is falling apart? 👀 Keep being badass, Viola! This story makes me forget how boring my life is 😅
This is a very good question.
Here are some facts about Lunas.
1. Yes. There can be more than one Luna, but they are EXTREMELY rare. Currently there are only 5 Luna in the entire world.
The Luna of the mountain nations is a main character of The Alpha. Her pack is located in East Asia.
The Luna of the desert nations is located in Northern Africa. Her name is Adaeze Keita
The Luna of the forest nations is located in South America. Her name is Magdalena Montes
The Luna of the plains nations is located in North America. Her name Shiloh Blackthorn
The Luna of the water nations is located in Europe. Her name is Else Fairbanks.
2. All Luna are descended from the same bloodline. Over the centuries - members of that bloodline have migrated. It is currently unknown where the bloodline originated from.
3. No pack will ever have more than one Luna. And while a few packs in the same region may have descendants of the Luna’s bloodline, there is usually only one Luna born to each general region at a time.
4. Luna are deeply revered by all wolves regardless of pack allegiance. They are accorded the highest possible respect and to harm or kill a Luna is a profound violation of not only international wolf law, but also of their culture and belief system. It isn’t done. At all. Ever.
5. Luna can be any race. Their facial features, hair textures, heights, and other general attributes are unique to each Luna. The only feature they all share is silver eyes and white hair.
6. Luna are considered royalty no matter who their birth parents are and no matter the circumstances of their birth.
7. A Luna’s wolf is always white. No other wolves are ever that color.
Jimin, are you nervous?
“I’m really trying not to think too much about anything right now... just one tedious ceremonial step at a time...”
i was wondering if luna's name is really luna i mean it's her name or it just a title like the alpha
The Luna is a title - a role really. She is the destined mate of the Alpha and her bloodline is blessed by the goddess. All Luna are descended from the same bloodline. She is often called “Luna” or “The Luna” because her role in the pack is extremely important. A pack blessed with a Luna (not all packs are) is highly revered. Legend has it they are the direct descendants of the Moon goddess and the only mortal man she ever loved.
For the Luna! Growing up did you ever have any friends who were jealous of your popularity as a future Luna? What was it like constantly being in the spotlight? Hate it? Love it?
“So... yes and no. Being a Luna is seen as something that is very prestigious - but also a bit of a burden. You don’t really have the option of a simple life. I think some of my peers may have been envious of the attention that I received when we were all very young... but then they got older and started doing things like casual flirting - which I can’t do if I don’t want everyone and their mother reading into it and accusing me of Clan favoritism- or traveling all over the place - which I can’t do without months of preparation because of all the obligations I have here...”
The Luna smiled wistfully.
“When they saw the what it really meant to be a Luna, I think a lot of them came to be grateful that they were allowed to live mostly as they pleased.”
She sighed.
“I have only ever known being a Luna and I do not resent it. Our pack is blessed and I am a part of that... There were times growing up when I wished that I had some of the freedoms my peers enjoy, but overall I am content with who and what I am. Though... I won’t pretend it was always easy.”
