The surprise
Virgil knew something was wrong the moment Roman stopped talking. That alone was suspicious. But Roman also kept glancing at him, smiling to himself, adjusting things that didn’t need adjusting. It was unnerving. »Why are you smiling like that?« Virgil asked, eyeing him from across the room. »That’s your I have a plan smile. I don’t like it.« Roman clasped his hands behind his back, rocking on his heels. »I’m offended. This is my I have prepared something lovely and you will appreciate it smile.« »Those two expressions look identical,« Virgil said flatly. »It makes me feel like I’m about to be murdered.« »If I were going to murder you, I’d make it dramatic,« Roman replied and gestured grandly toward the barstool. »Now. Please be seated.« Virgil stared at it. »Why.« »Because,« Roman said, already herding him forward, »you look fantastic on elevated surfaces.« »That is the worst reason you could’ve given.« Nevertheless, Virgil sat. The barstool creaked under him as he folded his arms, posture defensive by habit. Roman hovered nearby like an excited stagehand. »Okay,« Roman said. »Close your eyes.« Virgil snorted. »Absolutely not.« Roman placed a hand over his heart. »Virge, honestly, do you think so little of me?« »Yes.« »Rude.« Roman leaned closer, voice dropping into something conspiratorial. »Just trust me. No funny business. Scout’s honor.« »You were never a scout.« »Still an honor,« Roman said quickly. »Eyes closed.«

A little birthday present for myself ! 🫣 🥳
Okay so, a lot of things changed for me ! I moved back to my parents house, hence why I haven't been active (again !) But I finally have my own little place ! My own room, my own bed (no more sleeping on the couch yay !) and my own desk !!!!
But I have some family dinners in the next few days, for my birthday and just to reconnect but then I'll be all alone in the beginning of August !!
I'll try to get back into streaming and commission if I feel comfortable enough !! 😌
So yeah, hoping I'll finally be stable now !
I don’t wanna brag (maybe I do) but I got the best and most gorgeous birthday present from @station18908 🤍😭 look at these stunning fan arts!

Although Algy had found himself deep in the heart of some mysterious rainforest, a kind friend had managed to send him a lovely wee book of poetry for his birthday – although how that could have been possible, Algy would never know 😀
But he did know that it was as much Sunday in a rainforest as anywhere else – or so he assumed – and he was delighted to think that he did not have to abandon his usual practice of relaxing with a book of verse on a Sunday afternoon just because he was a long, long way from home…
So Algy picked up his new book, which was exactly the right size for the library of a fluffy bird, and hopped up onto a handy bough which was surrounded by colourful, dangling flowers.
Although it had been the strange rainforest frogs who had brought his birthday presents to him, it soon became clear that they had never seen a book before, and did not understand what such an object might be. Some of them showed little interest and hopped off into the forest, but one wee bright green frog seemed keen to learn, positioning itself close to Algy on the branch and staring at the pages as he turned them one by one. Algy guessed, however, that in fact the little frog could not read, so for its benefit, and for that of any other creatures who might happen to be listening, Algy decided to read out loud.
And on the next page he found a short poem which seemed quite apposite in principle, although Algy really could not agree with the author on the subject of cold days with a nipping air, for in his case such days were precisely what his free spirit had wished to get away from 😀
Give me the long, straight road before me, A clear, cold day with a nipping air, Tall, bare trees to run on beside me, A heart that is light and free from care. Then let me go! – I care not whither My feet may lead, for my spirit shall be Free as the brook that flows to the river, Free as the river that flows to the sea.
[Algy is reading the poem Freedom by the early 20th century poet Olive Runner (assumed to be American, though very little is known about her).]
