Jean POV of the first banquet, genuinely need feedback on his characterization pls rip it to shreds if it is way off

Nathaniel opened his mouth and Jean felt every word. It took nothing to imagine the curve and shape of the sounds coming out of his mouth. Half the words went unprocessed. That was fine. A few days from now they’d be carved into his skin enough they would never leave. He stared unseeing at the space above the small striker’s shoulder. On Riko’s other side, more fuel was added to the fire.

“Between this and Volikov’s little sister, you’re really just missing the mark with these freshmen, aren’t you Day?” 

Any Raven in earshot of the remark flinched under the table. The surest way to bring down the wrath of their assistant coach was to mention him in petty gossip like this. And his sister? Only the fourth and fifth years saw her the previous winter but they had to know. Jean wondered how they made it this far without getting killed if this was their idea of a good joke. Across the table, Kevin’s naturally pale face grew ten shades whiter as the blood drained out. 

“Oh,” the Raven leaned forward on their elbows, “didn’t you realize it? Half your building saw the two of you sneak off to fuck. First game of the season and you just needed a taste of a Raven afterwards, huh?”

“That little blood whore is not a Raven,” someone further down scoffed. Jean wanted them all to shut up so they could eat and get this over with. Even without the disaster this was turning into, he knew Riko would keep him up all night. The sooner they got to the bus, the sooner he could rest his head against the window and hope Zane sat next to him. With any luck, the bus might hit a bump in the road and he’d get another concussion. Jean could do with more short term memory loss. After tonight it would be a blessing. 

He missed, thankfully, the inciting words. One of the Fox backliners reached across the table to shove a basket of bread and a full pitcher of water over the edge and onto Zane’s lap. It was a fitting end for such ill fitting food on the menu of athletes. Outnumbered did not seem to matter to the mismatched group of people across from them. 

Riko’s hand curled in the hair at the base of his neck. Pulled to standing, Jean stepped backward with him. There was little preservation to be had in the Nest but he had to admit that, on occasion, the King knew when to step back. It was all in vain. He was the captain and therefore this would be his fault more than anyone else’s. None of them would sleep this weekend.

It's around Evan's third "birthday" (around the time he was created). I wanted to do a cool picture for him, so here it is. It's not exactly as I imagined but when is it ever lol. I wanted to do some cool shading but I ran out of motivation :(

Went on a little side adventure from doing artfight references (I really shouldn't have lol) and did a digital pic with evil uncle. I don't think there's anything too disturbing? It might be a little uncomfortable though? I'm not sure but I'll put the pic under the cut!

I had fun drawing this but all that goop was so very tedious agshghaja. Also I think I went a bit excessive on the goop, I tend to do that when I add effects and stuff, I had to reel in when doing the cracks lol.
