Lilly Wachowski, co-director of The Matrix, is producing a bold new sci-fi short film titled DOLLS, featuring an allâtrans-women cast. The 18-minute thriller marks the directorial debut of trans filmmaker Geena Rocero and explores powerful themes of identity, empowerment, and community through a futuristic lens. Starring Rocero alongside YĂȘn Sen, ArewĂ Basit, Macy Rodman, and Vas Eli, the project brings together a dynamic range of trans talent both in front of and behind the camera.
Described as a trans-coded reimagining of The Stepford Wives, DOLLS blends science fiction with sharp social commentary, highlighting the resilience, challenges, and strength of trans women.
