I chose one of Trinidad & Tobago’s classic Calypsoes because it suits my mood on this rainy island night and brings back fond memories of when I had the good fortune to be sitting in the studio while Shadow (he liked me and the other guys my age to call him “Uncle Winston”) chugged on a bottle of grog (Trini slang for “alcohol”) and recorded this song. Shout out to my longtime colleague and elder music icon Carl “Beaver” Henderson who produced this Caribbean masterpiece. 🙌🏾🇹🇹
