nassun hates her mother because her mother was cruel to her. why was essun cruel to her? because schaffa abused her from childhood and destroyed her family, leading her to pass that trauma down to her daughter in an attempt to keep her safe. and who's holding nassun's hands telling her it's wrong for her to be abused? SCHAFFA. even though he's reformed, even though he's different, its like!!!! bitch its your fault we're even in this situation!!!! AUGGGUFHFHGH the character relationships in this book drive me bonkers
