Mitzi and Johnny Hughes opened The Players on 8/31/45 across from Hotel Last Frontier. The casino/nightclub was on land likely leased from Frank Dio Dato. The Players' name, along with the design of the rooftop sign, was borrowed from Preston Sturges' The Players on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood.

The property was bought by Wilbur Clark in '47 as Clark began construction of Desert Inn nearby. The Players briefly reopened as Wagon Wheel. It was called The Players again '49, and operated a series of different clubs in the 50s:

'50: Frank & Jerry’s Bowery

'51: Al Cooper's Polynesia, then Jungle Club

'52-'54: Dick Sheridan’s Strip Sports Book 

'54-'56: Santa Anita Race Book, operated by Sam Cohen

In '56, the building was demolished and Santa Anita Race Book was moved to a new location slightly south. The Players' property was replaced by Joseph Magnin and Jackman’s.

Mapicc is a shark hybrid because... Idk he just gives shark energy. And mapicc being loan shark is canon so. I gave him teeth and his crown is also have teethy thing going on. Under his eyes are his gills or something... Idk. I don't know sharks like that

Roshambos design is like my fav despite it being some mix of medusa/stone statue. Kinda like if medusa looked at mirror and turn themselves. It supposed to be a column that separate his body. Also no hands. Only palms.

Branzy is THE chicken or like the rooster ig? Idea was that you look at him and like what he can do he prob have hp of a chicken- and then you witness him murdering his somewhat own kind sadistically

Zam is a mermaid! Im not sure where this idea came from but i fw it. Plus gives me devotion duo parallels. Zam is also dressed in worn out clothes but he makes sure to keep his crown shinny
