Nobody understands the Sister Lilhy/Poor Fellow power imbalance yuri that is meant to be representative of her relationship to the Azraels, but is ultimately hollow. It is selfishly controlling just as it was with them. She similarly clings to the Poor Fellow because Sister Lilhy does not want to be alone, and a facsimile of an Azrael is better than none at all—which is what brought her to the Chinese Azrael initially, and now the Poor Fellow. And the Poor Fellow looks up at her with the same unwavering devotion, but unlike Azrael she trusts the Poor Fellow will listen. Unlike Azrael, she is all the Poor Fellow has. Much like Azrael, the Poor Fellow is all she has. But the Poor Fellow understands her in ways they didn’t seem to. And reveres her in ways they wouldn’t. So perhaps she is more than they were, than he was. Or maybe Lilhy is just desperate enough that she will look for love in anything.
