mike wheeler post s3 depression arc, but he gets obsessed with making himself watch will's favorite horror movies.

this is not because he can stomach them now, oh no, he's still terrified. it's because he suddenly has a deep need to understand what will saw in them in an effort to fill that emptiness in his chest now that will won't call him back. if he can't understand will anymore, he'll have to settle for understanding what will left behind.

the fear and disgust he feels after watching also has the added benefits of punishing him for this weird guilt he constantly carries around now for some reason and keeping him up at night so he doesn't have to see the ~weird~ dreams his subconscious keeps trying to show him.
