Hey Nicky! Thanks for sharing your work. No Afro-Puffs Allowed: Policing Black Aesthetics was interesting to read. The fact that a letter could be sent out stating, "Afro-puffs and small twisted braids, with or without rubberbands, are NOT permitted." is absurd. I love the fact that more Black women are embracing their natural hair/ curls and allowing their daughters and/ or young girls to see that it is a beautiful thing! I personally admire Afro-puffs and braids. I believe the more that women show that they love their hair, the more the younger generations will be impressed and able to admire their natural curls as well, and no style should be off limits!
