Not much to say here, just wanted to share my art recap of the new year!! Honestly pretty happy with the stuff I did this year, even if i've been a bit more busy due to college and work to work on some things, but think I managed fine! Can definitely see a lot of improvements, especially with my way of using color, and overall just having lots of cool things to draw! So here's to another year of drawing MORE >:D

But for real I am REALLY damn proud of this one!! Back in 2023 I listened to Ice Nine Kills for the first time which, if you haven't heard of em, I HIGHLY recommend their music is incredible, I'm not usually into metal-like songs but holy shit some of those fucking a s c e n d me-
With that, one of my favorite songs is their Evil Dead song, Ex-Mørtis, which always gave me HUGE Frankie vibes since their favorite horror series is Evil Dead, their punk so course they'd love this style (even tho they live in the 80's but shhhhhhh-), and...other lore reasons ya don't need to know rn, but it fits them perfectly! Soooo 2 years ago I tried drawing a piece inspired by my ideo of them performing the song! And-

But for real happy Pride Month! Like last time, i almost forgot to make something due to being busy with other things, going on a week long trip out of state, and wanting to draw other things, bUT I STILL MANAGED, EVEN GOT TO DO IT WITHIN THE MONTH, SO H A - >:D
But for this month, I wanted to do something a lil different! Unlike before where i'd just do the characters with their partners and/or with their flags (which is always nice to do), i instead wanted to do more what pride meant for the actual characters, if that makes sense. And i figured I'd do that with my OC, Frankie!
Y'see, tho I haven't shown much of it, The Ribcage actually takes place in the 1980's, and a thing about that time with the queer community is it was a notoriously difficult time with the AIDs crisis and overall great homophobia time at the time. So i decided to draw one of my characters rejecting back against that.
Over time, I've slowly given Frankie a more punk look/style (which does fit them greatly), so I figured what wouldn't fit them more than causing some good ol' property damage? Graffiti on a harmful religious sign? Sounds right to me! >:]
But yeah! Overall this was a fun piece to do, especially for the lighting/effects, and drawing Frankie is always a huge plus! Hopefully will do more with them and the story of Ribcage later on if time/motivation allows, and if you guys are interested! But till then...time to keep drawing animatronics hhHhHH-

But anyhoo, decided to make this smol thing for pride! Pretty simple piece, light on the shading and not really a background since my main focus was mainly on the pose and the colored lighting, so think it looks pretty good!
oH! I also made this piece to finally show Frankie's boyfriend since I haven't shown them before! (Probably because it took me forever to make a proper ref for them and find a design i liked but shshshsh-)

But ey! Decided to hop on this trend while I could with some more of my OC's since this r e a l l y fit them perfectly, and been meaning to put more OC content out there, so works out! Staring Ritz and Tenebris again, one clearly not as excited for some small jail time, the other fine with it and ready, and both....probably won't be staying there long anyway :]
But this one was pretty simple and chill for me, obviously nothin too complicated, was fun to do the small effects for wach of their pictures, and ey any chance to draw Ritz is way good enough for me >:]

But uh ey yeah! Nothing much usually happens to me on Valentines Day, but didn’t wanna exclude some of my OC's from that! So here we are! Got my two main bois having a lovely red Valentines Day, Ritz and Tenebris! Was serious in trying to ger more of my OC stuff out there, so guess this is a start! XD
But yeah, anyhoo, felt good to do a full actually piece here, first time trying filtere with any of my pieces, wanted to convey those cheap greenscreens they used to have, thus to explain the cheasy background (totally not an excuse that I can't draw good background), and honestly just felt fun to use these guys more properly! Hope to do more in the future, so let me know if ya guys are interested in that! :D
(Also if you're wondering, the sign idea wasn't actually mine, found it on a post showing old LGTBQ+ vintage photots and one of them had that sign, and thought it was pretty damn funny and even sweet, so figured I'd use it here! :D Original: )

"The Ribcage"
...Me? Actually posting my own OC's? On this site? In this day and age?
But uh ey yeah! These are some OC'S I've had for a while now but rarely post...anywhere, but figured I'd give it a shot here! You've only seen one here in a post I did for Pride Month, and that's Frankie, but the other two should be pretty new! So I'll give a bit of info 'bout 'em here! :]
Frankie: Already shared some info before so pretty much same as the Pride post! Frankie's a half human/mortal and half something else unknown to them (being the cause of their constant tears and white hair), but their human half had a curse on their biological family that gave them a personal demon that had to kill, but they're actually really close with their demon and agree only to kill "bad people"...or annoying people. (They named their demon "Mari", hopefully I can get official art on them one day). They're not biological related to either Ritz or Tenebris, being raised by them since pretty much birth, but doesn't care at all and loves them like any family would.
Ritz: Ritz is actually an alien halfway across the universe, not really expressing much about his species or what life was like on his planet, but pretty much being a shapshifter kind of alien, thus why he looks (mostly) human here. He arrived at Earth around the 1920's and, after spending some time with a human he based his appearance from, he figured the best way to figure out humanity and Earth itself...is through mythical, paranormal, and demonic creatures of course! So that's why, later on, he sets up his own club welcoming all those demented and damned! Speaking of...
Tenebris: And this is where Tenebris comes in! Tenebris was summoned by Ritz despite getting the ritual completes wrong, Tenebris just going to kill him but finds he can't since nothing on Earth, even those demonic, can kill Ritz since he's not from there. And Ritz can actually hurt Tenebris/any demons, but not exactly kill them, or at least not right off the bat. So this was an interesting situation for Tenebris to be in, soon being fascinated by something like Ritz and what he was trying to do, so, curiosity mainly driving him, soon agreed to work with him in finding these cryptids to come to his "sanctuary", and, after spending a lot of time together, soon became partners in more ways then one.
(their's a lot more to it but I don't wanna write anymore then I've already have djskahsk-)
But that's pretty much the main points about them as characters! Dunno how I'll make this story honestly, if I'll write about it, make a web comic, or hell even animate for it (in the waaAAAAY distant future), but if you guys are interested, guess we'll see!
But either way, hope you enjoy the beginning of a story I finally found a name for after a long time of thinking.
