Tumblr is still, as I alluded to earlier, cranky about uploading copyrighted songs, but they also can’t really reckon with how fucking obscure a ska fan’s library will be.

Every time I find a new band I like, I can’t help but think “I bet someone expressly told me to check out this band and I didn’t because I was an asshole and now I’m a stupid asshole because these guys kick fucking ass and I’ve been needlessly missing out.”
Anyway, apparently I really like The Rudiments.
Introducing.....The Rudimentss
“This band strip their rootsy music down to tinkling guitars and husky vocals, and their hooky, 60s influenced melodies could become an essential travel companion when their debut album comes out in 2011” HaddowFest live review
‘DOCTOR BONE’S FRIED MEDICINE’ is the second release from Glasgow 5 piece ‘THE RUDIMENTS’.
Since their well received first EP ‘Along the Bottom’ was released in early 2010, the band:
Stuart Smith - Lead Vocals & Guitar, Nicky Wright - Guitar & Backing Vocals,
Chris Goodwin - Bass & Backing Vocals and Dave Johnston - Drums,
have been joined by: Ryan Bonnyman - Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals.
2010 continued with them performing live on a regular basis helping to build a faithful and ever growing fanbase, not only in their hometown but throughout Scotland and further afield.
These gigs inspired them to work towards making their next recording reflect the energy and spirit of the live shows.
So as the long, dark winter nights approached the boys got together and agreed to take a break from playing live, batten
down the hatches and begin preparations for this record.
At the end of February 2011, after months of rehearsing and writing, they emerged blinking from their bunker, packed their satchels,
athered their instruments and headed for the tiny village of Crawfordjohn deep in the Scottish countryside.
Once there, they embarked on the final part of their mission.
To track down and possibly, with a little bit of luck, acquire the services of the mythical and illusive ‘DOCTOR BONE’
No-one has heard from or seen The Rudiments since that cold February morning when they set off from Glasgow so full of hopes and dreams, but luckily (well, not for them obviously!) a CD of mixed and mastered songs was found by a lake in the woods near the village.
So please have a listen . . .
. . . It’s what they would’ve wanted.
THANKS.
