KITTEN PHOTO DUMP
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT POLL: What do you call this color of cat? (Not the black one. 😹)
Tabico
Caliby
Nuance/I'm a Sphinx/catnip extract
Violet's new thing: if I stay up "too late," she will come find me and SCREAM until I go to bed. Apparently nothing else I have going on could possibly be more important than providing a set of legs for her to sleep upon. 😂
Since we got the kittens, I have been frequently noticing myself thinking "the cats need fed" "the cats need scooped"* etc so I asked @jennelikejennay if there is a technical term for this. She wasn't sure so she looked it up and according to Yale it's just called the "needs washed" phenomenon. 😂😂😂
I don't use all of the "acceptable" constructions but maybe I should start for the sake of dialect preservation!
*this is a combination of a "needs washed" construction with a time-saving family synecdoche -- when I was growing up, it was common to hear things like "Did you scoop the cats?" meaning "Did you scoop the litter box belonging to the cats?"
The mobile cat collecting game Neko Atsume did not prepare me for the fact that bonito flakes smell HORRIFIC
💕
