ive realized why shen yurong is my favorite character in the double, and it's because he reminds me so much of this guy, my #1 favorite drama villain:

shunji from bridal mask: the do-gooder beginning. the obsessive love for the FL because she represents what life was like before everything went to shit/is the reminder of their capacity for humanity. the external pressures and endless hard choices that they just keep making wrong. the self-awareness of it all as they head toward rock bottom and get even more desperate to claw their way back to where they started.

Do you have any examples of kdramas where the female lead is being sacrificed for the sake of the male lead arc? Or maybe the other way around?

I haven't watched so many dramas (only 34 so far), so your help will be much appreciated.

So far I've got (SPOILER ALERT!!!)

K-dramas where female leads die:

1. Scarlet Heart: Ryeo

4. Mr. Queen (this is a debatable one, since the FL didn't actually die and wasn't a FL either, but still, I have placed it here since CheolJeong was definitely the ML)

5. Bridal Mask (which broke me)

3. The king: 2 hearts (fine, he was second male lead, but it broke me anyway, he was first lead to me)

I love Alice and am interested in the drama, but...

Then I rewatch (for the 1000x time) one episode of Bridal mask and I seriously love the barking and “bingo man” Joo Won aka Lee Kang To. In this world doesn’t exist anything that is better than Gaksital. That is the fact.

But still - I’m looking forward how Alice will develop.

PS: Am I the only one who doesn’t like his annoying and crying friend, the journalist?
