Dear Bernie,

Firstly, congratulations are your new workplace position; I hear the previous district did not appreciate your unqiue teaching talents. I can understand this in a deep level, someones us creatives are shunned for being too "different" -- of course all my students passed with flying colors even though -- well, you know the story.

From one teacher to another, understand that you are enough. If you are changing lives and inspiring young minds, then you are preparing them for a future we can only hope will be better than what we live in today. Be someone they will remember for years to come, and as ironic as it is for me to say this, be brave.

I know you well, though we have never formally crossed paths, I keep close tabs on the local schools, it's a good way to scout out potential test subjects and followers. Bright minds are a plenty this year, there's lots of seeds for you to sow. This is your moment, your year, to shine. Curate memories, and be weird doing it too. That's what would make me most proud.
