'Ronan's second secret was Adam Parrish' is a beautiful sentence craft, because it could have easily said "Ronan likes boys/Ronan is gay" since the three secrets pertain to his identities. But no, it was never going to be put so simply because Ronan's sexual identity is fully encapsulated by Adam Parrish. He likes a boy, but it isn't any boy and it will never be any other boy except Adam (Ronan knew of Adam's existence before he saw Adam the first time- from The Dreamer Trilogy). Ronan's sexual identity could easily be "Adam Parrish" rather than any other label, and that's just a wonderful example of who Ronan is, extremely monogamous and loyal to Adam being his first (and the first man on Earth), and his last love. Adam is one of Ronan's identities.
