Some of you may recall about a week ago, I shared my autographs from FAN EXPO Boston (or Boston Comic Con), & one of them was from Evangeline Lilly. I may have forgotten to mention that Ms. Lilly loved my fan art of her book The Squickerwonkers so much that she asked me to take a picture of her with the drawing.

Well, it seems the official Squickerwonkers page on Twitter has uploaded my artwork, & it made me so happy to see that they still love it! I thought I’d share their tweet sharing my artwork, & I want to thank them for sharing my art with the world!

Just finished one of the many many many intricate pieces for my Tauriel costume. super fun to sew, broke so many machine needles!! I love leather!!

Wore it to Evangeline Lilly's book signing for her Squickerwonkers.

It was so humbling to meet such an amazing, true artist. Its not often I find an artist whos work I connect to so deeply. By this I am not saying that I love only the characters she plays.. I love her as an artist. Her passion for her work and love of art is clearly visible in what she does and thats what inspires me. Evangeline's passion and enthusiasm was even more contagious in person. I myself do what I do for the love of he art and I am sometimes feel lost when I realize so many people are in it for fame and attention... I wish there were words to describe just how it feels to meet an artist whos work has left such an impression on you. Im so glad I got to thank her for being such an artistic inspiration, I just hope what a said was actually cohearant enough for her to understand... I was quite flustered and my face was super red... I was absolutley thrilled when she complimented me on my Tauriel jacket. I wasnt even expecting her to notice it at all but she did! The person who wore the original piece approved of my interpretation of it.

Maybe one day I will be able to show her the full costume when its done!

I cant wait for her next books!

Friends who are into children's books (so mostly illustration friends I guess?) go check out The Squickerwonkers by Evangeline Lilly(yes, the actress). It's got some really incredible illustrations by Johnny Fraser-Allen and the story is really charming.

Thank you so much evangelinelilly for being you! For being so inspirational, hilarious and kind. Thank you so much for your tips, and please do write a book about it. Even though I completely embarrased myself in front of all those people because I completely forgot what I was going to say. I had the best night. Your book is amazing, and so are you. Thank you.
