Checking in for a quick work rant. My boss scheduled me to close every day this weekend. No one else in management got scheduled all 3 days. Just me. On top of that he also gave me an 8-5 shift too which is kind of just ass. I can’t wait to quit. Speaking of, though my job hunt is currently turning up mostly fruitless, I gave myself a definitive quitting time. When my seasonal art gig starts back up again, I’m done with AMC. I’m not working both again. Not happening. So worst case scenario, I’ll quit then. Maybe even the week before so I can have a “vacation” week. I should start back in mid-August so that’s the latest. Still actively applying to jobs so a different job coming through sooner will result in me quitting sooner and not going back to my seasonal gig. And absolutely needing to do the seasonal will result in me continuing my job search with the knowledge that I’ll be unemployed in January if I don’t figure it out before then. Technically plenty of time. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that but we’ll see. But I’m sick of AMC and it’s not worth sticking around, at least not under current circumstances. Gonna put my 2 weeks in and not just quit so I have that as an option later too but really don’t plan on going back.

I go through this weird cycle every now and then where I seem to have multiple potential romantic/sexual partners lined up but every time things just end up not working with all of them just as quickly as things seem to start. More often than not, it happens before I even meet them, though I’ve had a few flukes where I met them before getting ghosted. Then I usually think about the last time I had romantic feelings for someone and how that didn’t work out. Kind of an annoying cycle.

One of the girls who just ghosted me gave me some flashbacks to when I was getting catfished before Covid. She was a little flakey/avoidant but it sort of just brought me back to that for some reason. But it’s whatever.

I saw a post saying that “There’s never a guarentee of a reprint” regarding Spider-Gwen #1. Ms Marvel #1 went through like 8 reprints. Spider-Gwen’s getting at least 2-3 reprints.

For my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding gift, I was planning to get them a record player and a couple vinyls but funny enough, I had no clue what my brother’s taste in music is like. I have a pretty good handle of my sister-in-law’s music taste but had no clue for my brother. So I ask my sister if she knows and she similarly had no clue. Then yesterday I finally thought to ask my sister-in-law’s sister if she knows what my brother listens to and funny enough, she did. So that helped. Now I just need to order everything. But yeah, I’m set now. Just thought it was funny that my brother’s musical taste was unknown to his two actual siblings but known by his sibling-in-law. And that I knew my sibling-in-law’s taste better than his.

Facebook Marketplace can be so annoying sometimes. I have some action figures listed with pricing for the figures individually and pricing for them as a whole lot. One guy messaged and asked about 4 of them so I gave him pricing for the 4 that was cheaper than the individual listings (added up to like $70-75 and I said I’d sell him the four for $60). He agrees to it and we plan to meet. Day of he goes “Can you do $40?” Some nerve to agree to a price and day then try haggling. I said “No, sorry” and then he tried going $50 and I just stopped replying because I’m not doing business with someone who goes back on agreed upon terms like that. He sent a couple random follow ups since then. One trying to act like his paying cash would make a difference (it doesn’t) and then earlier him trying to go back to the $60 (too little too late). Don’t agree to a price if you want to negotiate. I probably would’ve considered the $50 if he asked originally but agreeing to $60 then trying to pull a fast one is a big no.

Would love to know what goes through my boss’s head when he looks at my extremely open and flexible availability and still decides to schedule me outside of it. This is the third week in a row he scheduled me to close on Tuesday. Closing Tuesday is literally the only shift I put as being unavailable for out of the entire week yet he keeps scheduling me there. I can’t wait to quit.

So yesterday at work I think a girl was flirting with me. (This is going to be a very nothing burger story so be warned). I was helping out on register during the busy hour and this girl comes up to me and asks for a popcorn and I noticed a few things. First off that she was pretty. Second her body language. The way she smiled and was leaning towards me at the counter felt flirtatious. That brings me to the third thing: her popcorn was like 80% full. Kind of like she wanted an excuse to catch my attention more than the actual refill. All those things on their own: nothing. Together? Possibly something. Anyway I hand her the popcorn back and smile and she thanks me and lingers just long enough for me to melt a little bit. Unfortunately this happened around 8pm and I was only scheduled until 9 and any movie she was possibly seeing would run until 10 or later so I didn’t see her again. I kept an eye out, hoping ahead take a bathroom break before I left but no luck. It very well could have been nothing and chances are I won’t see her again but it was a nice moment. I haven’t felt seen or wanted like that in so long that even a brief exchange like that made me feel nice.
