Context: this post is about an AU where Inho has Dissociative Identity Disorder, and therefore shares his body with Frontman, Young-il and Player 132. They're all different people with different memories and different likes/dislikes and opinions.
Sooo...everyone remembers Inho's wife, right?
This lovely lady right here.
Wouldn't it be fun if Inho couldn't cope with losing her, so his DID brain would split an introject of her...and now he'd have to live with her in his brain for the rest of his life, alive and well and also able to take control of his body sometimes?
Yeah, so...this idea started out as a funny "what if Inho's wife would live in his brain?", but bro...I'm not sure its a "what if" anymore.
Meet Hye-in, Inho's former wife and a female alter in his system. I named her after the actress that plays her in the show.
Some headcanons I have about her:
She does not love Inho anymore, and instead slowly falls in love with Player 132, spending more and more time with him on the inside. Player 132 hates everyone, including Inho, Young-il, and Frontman, but can't find the guts to hate her.
She sometimes calls herself Frontwoman. She also gets into arguments with Frontman, but he doesn't remember much about her. He likes thinking that she's as stubborn as she used to be.
She still remembers her own liver treatment, and it left her with some medical trauma. So even though neither Inho, nor Frontman, Young-il, or Player 132 struggle with medical trauma, being in a hospital can still give them a panic attack, because she would have a panic attack and feelings can bleed from one alter to another.
Some days, she feels like she's dying because she remembers what it was like dying in the hospital, and they have to assure her that the body isn't dying.
Despite being in a male body, she is still very feminine and spends some of the money on makeup and feminine clothes. When Young-il is in a good mood, her and him can do makeup looks together.
She enjoys play-fighting with Gihun, until Gihun's chivalary makes him pause and say something like "I won't punch a lady." and then she calls him "wife"
She tries to take on the role of caregiver within the system, soothing them when the memories threaten to overwhelm them, but she isn't always good at doing it.
Because she shares the body with four other men, she often forgets how men can actually be very dangerous, and Frontman thinks its a bit funny watching her say some stuff, sometimes.
Also because she's in a male body, she does not get a period, but she does get the monthly urge to eat healthy, and completely redo her whole life, so she fills their fridge with greens that she forgets about a week later.
Sometimes she gets a panic attack when Frontman drinks too much alchool, because she is convinced his liver, and therefore her liver, won't make it, and then Frontman has to stop drinking. And also soothe her.
She still remembers getting flowers from Inho every day, and she really enjoys receiving a bouquet of flowers.
And because I said its not a joke anymore, here's some fanart I made about her.
Here is a sketch with Hye-in, fronting along Young-il, and both of them somewhat dissociating doing a fun make up look.
And here is a more rendered piece unifinished of Hye-in and Player 132 having fun on the inside. The inner world, for The Squid System, looks a lot like the games because its the place they got the most trauma. Being on the inside can feel very real to them. And on the inside, she has her usual female body.
And here is a playlist I made for her and Player 132. He enjoys jazz music, so there are quite a few jazz songs he'd like about her.
I fear I may have lost the plot...when I made her part of the system. But it is so enjoyable to me. Let me know if you also enjoy the idea.
