omg star trek discovery is sooo good. the visuals, the writing, the acting, the storyline and omg the insanely insane plot twists
i got so fucking mad when i was listening to a tech podcast i usually enjoy vegging out to, when the host and a guest (both old white men so i rly shouldnt be surprised) both go, “well i really dont see whats up with discovery but i love star trek picard” and then they continued on with, “i dont really see the big deal with the latest star wars movie. its not nearly as good as the original movies or even the prequels”
i was fucking livid listening to two old ass white guys poo poo’ing two franchises with women leads. and they honest to god thought they were being impartial and objective
star trek discovery: you got michael burnham, a diverse ass crew, captain christopher pike, spock, and a host of other legendary oldies + some very very very good writing
star wars the rise of skywalker: lando calrissian is back, rey is kicking some serious ass, and it was a kickass movie (especially my favorite part when kylo died)
but nooo, all these two old ass white dudes can say is that neither franchise is very good - the one with the women leads

in a later convo they revealed that they didnt even know who tracee ellis ross was or that shes diana ross’s daughter
blindingly white whiteness
i swear sometimes old white dudes (and a lot of the young white dudes they influence) are fucking trash and dont even acknowledge their sexist, racist, gate keeping bullshit
anyway, pleas do yourself a favor and go see star wars rise of skywalker, and really do yourself a favor and watch star trek discovery
