The Third Son

This is my current major project, so I figured I would make a whole big post about it.

Ever wanted to know what would happen if a sweet, nice Christian man was seduced by a demon? The Third Son is a low fantasy gay romance novel about almost that.

As a professor of medicine and a reverend, Doctor Roslind McMillan would hope to spend his time balancing his obligations to the two demanding institutions. However, he's spent the last few months trying to save his career from his support of the demon-blooded civil rights movement and his relationships from the scars of his past. The last thing on his mind should be reliving the events that lead to his current situation. Yet, approached by a young historian and novelist, he's faced with the choice to either run from his past or tell his story for the first time:

Two years ago, Roslind left the city for the rural Greystone Abbey, practicing as a doctor while working to become a Vanaian priest. Only a few weeks before he's ordained as a priest of the Third Son of God, he's more than ready to leave. That is until a half-dead demon-blooded man collapses at the abbey's front door.

This man turns out to be Malory Monteparsse, an infamous preacher known for his radical separation from the church. Brutally attacked and seeking political asylum, Monteparsse should not only represent the antithesis of everything Roslind believes, but a clear danger as well.

Yet, tasked with keeping Monteparsse alive, Roslind soon realizes that he isn't the villain the Church would have him believe, but a man educated in philosophy, theology, and, most importantly, magic. As Roslind's genuine concern for Monteparsse turns into something more, he stumbles into a fight for innocent lives, freedom, and justice that challenges the very core of his beliefs.
