God, I drew these years ago...
This is something I thought of back when I made my old Wander & Westley AU. It’s touching on the idea of where Sylvia would want to be buried when she dies. With that in mind, I pictured Marsh-Falafel Apple Meadow in a much softer light, with striped grass instead of a flatland, and a more visible sunset. I also added mountains to show the parts of the planet looking more like the smooth ground in the series.
I thought on and off about uploading these, but never did until I looked back at them recently and thought of how proud I still am of them. I’m usually never good at coloring. Hope they’re interesting enough! Have a good weekend, everybody!
I have seriously been binge-watching Wander Over Yonder, I absolutely love everything about the show. I watched the episode "The Timebomb" recently, and (as a surprise to no one) I loved Sylvia going absolutely mental and wanted to draw it! We all been there, girl.
And we’re back on a bi-weekly schedule it seems. Fantastic!
Top 27 WoY Episodes: 27 - 23 Places
So, guess this month’s topic is top 27 WoY episodes. At least I didn’t have a problem with making a list. Or, rather, I’ve been making it for eight and half months.
27. The Date
Lord Hater gets stood up on a date, and, in true Hater’s manner, decides to destroy the planet retalitation, prompting Sylvia to masquerade as a girl interested in him. Of course it leads to funny scenes and shenanigans, but the most important thing is we finally got to take a better look at Hater persona; previously we got glimpses, here we saw him in vulnerable state. Which, of course, doesn’t change the fact he was an evil overlord ready to destroy planet because he threw a hissy fit, but, you know, that’s what the reedemable guys are for. It’s no surprise this episode was paired with “The Buddies”, which I really, really wich would make into the list, but there are just too many good episodes, you know?
26. The Gift II: The Giftening
A first horror story in the series. Well, sort of. Watchdogs, members of Hater’s army, are infected with happiness, which turns them into zombies. …Kind of. (I still think is serves better as black friday special anyway.) This episode is one of the few that shown us the Hater-Peepers dynamic in S1 and I loved it! Good humor, some fantascit expressions, overall great episode. It’s also paired up with “The Gift”, a Christmas special, which warms everyone’s heart, and serves as Wander and Sylvia’s point of view of events presented here.
25. The Hero
A knight, Sir Brad Starlight wants to save a Princess from an evil dragon, and to do that he needs help of goofy sidekick and a noble steed. And who better than Wander and Sylvia who I guess just stumbled upon him and Wander got exicted cause! Saving! The! Princess! Sylvia! We have to do this! This episode serves as a good and enjoyable fairytale parody with a little twist at the end that I’m not giving away.
24. The New Toy
After learning that Lord Dominato is a girl Hater tries to impress his new crush, by making a car - because ladies dig cars, am I right? This episode is hysterical, thanks to Peepers getting more and more frustrated, Hater trying to show off, but turnng his H.A.T.E.R.V. into giant plastic machine of watchdog doom, and Dominator having fun with these dorks. And the advertisement sequence. Oh my grop, the advertisement sequence.
23. The Time Bomb
Wander and Sylvia enter the 500th annual Galactic Conjunction 600, a race which essentially looks like running on the rainbow road. Sylvia has a problem with her temper; the competition turns her into the titular time bomb, competitive, angry dirty fighter. Not only it makes it impossible for her to win the race, it makes her feel ashamed, but, thankfully, she has Wander here to help her. This one touches the problem that many of us have, how impossibly angr and competitive some of us are getting. It’s constructed really nicely, and the lesson coming from it is good! Though I guess they could make ending differently, but, for what it is, “The Time Bomb” is great.
