Dick Grayson is not happy-go-lucky.
He’s simply much more emotionally in touch, and his bonds from early team comics (ntt specifically) actually shows us why.
The Titans often say directly how they’re feeling, no mind games — no riddle to solve trying to guess what someone means by a “hm.” A major reason why this rubbed off on Dick’s personality so much is because it was when he was 18-19, which is sometimes referred to as the period of someone’s life that their personality begins actually developing. While Dick was figuring himself out, growing, and CHANGING, he had the Titans to show him what being emotionally in touch is.
Even though Dick often ignores his own feelings — or tries to look past them — what he learned from the Titans definitely sticks with him.
