Perhaps the new generation of students beginning their magic training can change that.

Welcome to the Tower

Hello! We are a small group of writers with dreams the size of, well, an infinitely-expanding disc of a world with a tower tall enough to touch the heavens slap bang in the middle, and the goal of writing fantasy that gives a voice to those on the edges, while dismantling the systems of power that mean they stay there.

Stick around on this blog if you want to see our process, and if you have any questions feel free to send them in! (And, hey, if you want to help, we have a nice little discord server we can send a link to...)

We will not allow any form of discrimination or bigotry in this space - nor in our writing, so if you notice an issue, please do point it out so we can fix it! We don't have lived experience of every minority group ever and want to make sure we are representing everyone well, no matter what.

Things I have got up to in the last, uh... two months

Mostly uni essays (sadly). The good news is those are done now!

The majority of my creative stuff has been ttrpg related, but that does mean more of my original Bucky fanfic has been written... albeit future scenes and not actually where I got to. So I'm still on chapter 11 of that.

Snow Moon, however, is now 12 chapters long, so more Bucky/Jake for whoever's interested in that. Plus a bonus Moon Knight oneshot!

The latest short story on both Storyforge and Novellea is Monument. Not sure which I last announced so there may be more new ones too 👀

And to top it all, off, new project alert... this time with its own shiny new sideblog because why not. More detailed updates for @the-tower-project will be over there - and it's shaping up to be pretty cool after only a couple of days, if I do say so myself.

The two greatest words in the English language?

Just a funny little anecdote about finishing things, and typing my two favourite words: The End.

Funny story. Back in November 2020 I passed my word count goal for The Tower Project. Ahh, I said, that’s it. I’m done my novel. I immediately jumped into celebrating, and revising. For as long as I’ve been writing, I’ve been hearing about the importance of having ‘a writing practice’. What the heck does that mean? In short, creating a set of habits that help you put pen to page.
