The challenge would be TFA AU/continuity. From what I've heard, Autobot/Decepticon is coded into you: it seems you either are or are not one or the other. That coding alone defines your life.

So how would Blaze work in that continuity?

Best I can think of is a glitch in the system when he was being created and nobody had been able to detect it. Thus, he started to see right through some people and decided to disappear.

It's only fair to make this canon. With the amount of blending in the dark Blaze does, it's fair to give him some degree of color changing.

There's no other way for him to hide his more brighter parts of body other than to shift colors to near pitch black.

The morality of not killing an enemy who presents an active threat for the sake of trying not to become the thing one has sworn to fight against escapes Blaze greatly.

It makes no sense why someone, plagued by their nemesis' torment, would tolerate the continuous existence of suffering inflicted by their own incapacity to simply squeeze the trigger.

He doesn't believe you become just as bad as the enemy you've sworn to stop once and for all. Having the most drastic choice as something to be picked when everything has been exhausted only leads to prolonging the conflict.

Frag morality.

Squeeze that trigger.

Slice that blade.

Just do something to end it.

Thinking about Blaze's paintjob and how his general finish barely reflects anything. It isn't like with cars where the metallic polish has very visible reflections. In Blaze's case his paintjob absorbs almost everything.
