Balderdash with Steven and Erika and other Hope Hall Residents
Christmas isn't the same as it used to be. Some of the teenagers (and people in their early twenties) that I know say that it just isn't as exciting as it was when we were kids. Well, I agree, on a few things. It isn't the same and it isn't as exciting to open gifts. I remember watching videos from when I was nine and how quickly I tore through everything. Now, I savor the moment. I'd rather spend ten minutes opening five gifts than five seconds opening ten. Now, Christmas has so much more meaning to me. Meaning because of my family, my friends, and the birth of my dear Lord Jesus.
Genesis 19:30-38
You know when you sit in class and all you can think is, "what's the point?" or you say to your friends, "when will we ever use this in life?" I would say, I do believe everything and everyone has a purpose, whether it's greatly significant or small scale. The mere fact that we don't understand or agree with the purpose does not mean that it doesn't have one. Reading this passage, which I know I've read before (but since I don't really remember it, I mustn't have been paying much attention...), I thought to myself "what's the purpose? what does this mean?" I don't know. But I will find out.
