The audacity of making an angel character—on an American show no less—who sees that things are going downhill and lets go of all of his morals in the name of total freedom and bettering himself, and giving him a British accent. Like, my brother in Christ, that is toxic American capitalism to a t we don’t need to pawn that off to other countries. And like we don’t have a monopoly on pulling yourself up by pushing others down being something of an ideal, but it seems highly inauthentic to make a show that’s largely about America and then not identify our country with that trait specifically

When I started studying languages as a child, I thought that I would have the opportunity to travel and use them abroad. Then I entered the workplace and experienced language discrimination in Portuguese & Spanish at several employers. You quickly learn that speaking a foreign language never comes with a pay raise, you are expected to meet the same goals as English speaking teams even when there is no language support and you are given more responsibility than monoglots. 10 years later, I still could never afford to take a vacation abroad and companies now use AI to act like linguists and polyglots are stupid. Last year, I was racially profiled at the city of Round Rock, harassed & then fired after proving that I spoke Spanish. Being multilingual was already undecompensated in the workplace but now it is given almost no value due to technology. If you speak a foreign language in the workplace, it is used as an excuse to racially profile you and you will usually be compensated less.

Temporarily defeated an evil robot censoring our content after a week of being illegally silenced. We have very little equality in America and don’t need robots to destroy what little freedom we have to share content when it never gets any visibility anyway. I was censored this past week when a robot was triggered by me discussing harassment and how to feel confident while facing verbal abuse. Illegal censorship is never a solution.
