There's a maze of stories in this soul of mine. Often times, i am lost in some passage, forgotten how i got there, and it is ever-so-obvious i've no idea which way is out. (Or even if i want to get out.) It doesn't matter if it’s a newly birthed passage, or one that i have worn the floor of since my own birth..
I pull the maze - oozing black tentacles and all - carefully from my chest. It doesn't really want to be removed, the stubborn thing. I tug, i pull. The jaysome parts of the maze offer to help, but i remind them that this is something i must do on my own. Eventually, i have to use tweezers on the most difficult bits.
It is a messy business, this inspection.
I set the maze down on the table. It is mostly intact. Solid. There are parts that are slightly mushy. Some of it is crumbly if i am not careful with it. Like a biscotti, or a Coffee Crisp, if you're familiar with those. Upon a cursory review, all seems... normal.
Oh dear. It calls me again.
I open my chest, and with minimal effort, put my maze back in.
We cannot be apart for long.
Prompt: The Wonderer
The prompt for this week is The Wonderer, and will be running from February 24 to March 3. The prompt does not need to be included in the piece, it only serves to inspire. Please use the tag #armchairchallenge so that I may find it. Any pieces related to the prompt in any medium will be reblogged. Feel free to message my main blog, @electricarmchair, if you have any questions.

Note: Hey guys, It’s week 20! I apologize for the late prompt. This week’s prompt is “The Wonderer”. I think of a wanderer who wonders... because that’s what wondering thoughts would do. Do you ever begin to write, and just wonder.... and wonder and wonder and wonder? When I have a hard time starting a poem, I write down the six questions, “Who?”, “What?”, “Where?”, “When?”, “Why?”, and “How?”. These questions don’t need to be answered, but they help to break the silence. Sometimes I answer these questions with more questions.
When I was writing a poem, The Dreamboat, I wrote down the six questions. “What” was The Dreamboat. Then I wrote “Who paddles the dreamboat?”, “Where does it harness dreams from?” “Where did it come from?”, and “Where is it going?. The last question ended up being the idea for my poem; a starman can be seen in his dreamboat, but no one know where he goes.

They thought her a wanderer half-mad walking through evening snow She entered the home in silence, given food and drink against the cold While outside winds howled warnings against the shuttered windows Two adults, the children, their pets: hardly a meal she would remember But the house was warm enough and there was fuel enough for flames
She waited long past safety, wondering past dawn to the second day But the dead remained only dead and she remained again only alone The wonderer let out a breath as again her ancient gift was refused She left but even so she wondered if they were wiser still than she
Wondering
In my mind there is non-stop action. Constantly moving, going, turning beyond the realms of this physical world. What is beyond the stars, beyond the magma core, the concept of love, the idea of hate? Will we ever get the answers we so desperately seeking from either within ourselves or an unknown force? Are we truly finite beings or are we infinity capable of so much more. The mind goes from the mundane of the day to day grind we all share, to what is the purpose of this life is there a real reason to even care? Born, live, die with some moments in between; do you ever wonder why, do you think about what in truth it all really means...

30, 68, and 16 for your Homestuck OCs??? pwease?
30. When frightened, will they resort to “fight” or “flight”?
Urania Nedakh: Fight due to the violent tendencies bred into violet-bloods (this is personal HC about violet-bloods tbh), but when not acting on instincts, definitely flight
The Wonderer: Fight, even though in her time violence hasn’t been bred into the violet-bloods. She’s willing to fight for her beliefs and the better world she tried to create
Sigrun Nedakh-Ratite: Flight, definitely. In fact, the little introductory scene I have for her involves her hiding behind a tree from some assholes who want to kill her
68. How did their environment growing up affect their personality?
Urania: The crappiness of Alternian society and the way it treats those of lower blood castes has caused Urania to have a guilty disposition due to her high caste, and as a result she wants to do what she can to help dismantle the system and help the affected lower classes. She also has aggressive tendencies, especially when she’s angry, due to the conditioning of the upper classes to be violent (tbh I feel like the violence thing comes from a mix of both nature and nurture)
Wonderer: Same as Urania’s, though on a lesser level, since society was slightly better in her time, before the revolution, of course.
Sigrun: She was raised on Bajor (from the Star Trek universe) with loving parents, so as a result she’s in tune with other cultures and isn’t suffering the negative effects of having bad or no parents/emotional support. However, she always feels slightly alienated (no pun intended...or is it?) since she’s one of the only trolls on Bajor, and in the Alpha Quadrant in general.
16. Are they religious?
Urania: No
Wonderer: No
Sigrun: Slightly, I feel like she’d lowkey believe in the Prophets due to being raised on Bajor and also hearing about the wild happenings surrounding Captain Sisko at some point in her life.
