don’t leave, [I] trusted [you], trembling hands, collapse
ohhohhooo I bet you expected sad things from this but I’m determined to write happy things instead, so, consider (scribble writing quality again, just. let’s deal with it xD):
Wounded Coast, between acts 2 & 3
“Are you ready to give up yet?” Anders asked, summoning another ball of flames into his hands, and Jay laughed, out of breath. Anders’ latest spell had caught him off guard, and he had lost his footing and fallen flat onto his ass - but he had still gotten a barrier out in time, barely. The hairs on his arm were a little singed, but at least he wasn’t on fire and the skin didn’t feel burned. “That doesn’t sound like me,” Hawke said cheerfully even though sweat was running into his eyes, his body was screaming for rest, and his breath was more panting than anything else. He gathered his focus and strengthened his barrier as proof, magic swirling around him and tugging on what little mana he had left. The wind on his shoulders was cool and urging him forward. “Well? Don’t leave me waiting!” he said, and Anders smirked and flung the fireball at him. Hawke had no way of ducking out of its path when it was thrown from such short distance but the barrier did hold - just barely - and he scrambled onto his feet just in time to catch the next quickly fired spell straight in the chest when the barrier finally shattered. He yelped, and collapsed onto the wild grass again, dropping his staff and lifting both his hands into the air. “Okay, enough, enough!” he gasped, dropping one arm over his eyes. He pawed at his chest, grimacing at the burning pain and the raw feeling of the skin and the smell of charred hair. “I changed my mind! You beat me! Ow, uh - did you burn all my chest hair? I can’t look!” Contrary to what he was saying, he nevertheless propped himself onto his elbows and craned his neck to look at the burned skin with a hiss and a groan. “Ahhh, well. Uh, bu-, uh, burned something else off, too. Like a little bit of skin, maybe.” Anders couldn’t help but laugh as he hurried to Hawke’s side and dropped onto his knees beside him, hands lighting up with blue light this time. Hawke groaned with relief and slumped back onto the ground, letting first the healing energy wash over him, and then Anders’ cool palms press onto the burn for a while. “I’m sorry love. I trusted you could catch the spell with your barrier or duck out of the way,” Anders said and leaned over to kiss the corner of Hawke’s mouth, tasting the saltiness of the sweat and the honey Hawke had spread on his scone earlier. “I should have given you a little more time to get back on your feet. Good to see you’re taking it so lightly though.” “It was my own fault. I couldn’t hold the barrier like I though, I- I’m so out of shape after the whole Arishok ordeal.” Hawke let Anders help him sit up and took the offered waterskin, grabbing it with both hands to steady it. When he’d drunk enough, he raised his shaking hands for Anders to see, almost delighted. “I guess I overdid it a little?” “Could be,” Anders said and the corners of his eyes crinkled in amusement. He sat next to Hawke and leaned against his shoulder, nudging him playfully. “Or you could be in shock about the loss of your beloved chest hair.” “Oh, don’t remind me,” Hawke said and tried a mournful expression that was somewhat ruined by his own amusement when he looked down at his chest and its newly healed shiny pink skin and petted the remaining patchy hair. Some of it broke and fell off under his fingers. “Look at this! What a tragedy! I look naked!” “We could get you completely naked–,” Anders teased, tugging at the waistband of Hawke’s pants and then laughed when Hawke’s ears turned red. “Uh, sure. Maybe a little later though? I don’t think I can handle things getting more heated right now. Plus we’re kind out out in the open?” “I was thinking of maybe swimming and washing up,” Anders laughed, and then laughed harder when Hawke first pushed him with a huff and then kissed him. “You’re ridiculous. I love you,” Hawke said. “I love you. Come on, let’s get cleaned up.”

I temporarily lost my stylus so I drew this shitty...
2lb isn’t “unnaturally large”! A lot of bucks reach 2lb - one of mine has. Not fat, either - just a big handful. :-)
I fucking love rats. We had one named Doc Holliday that probably did weigh 2 pounds. He was awesome. Very chill, very cuddly, scared the shit out of the cats. (They would legit not go near him.)
I need to check Treville’s actual stats, he may be heavier than that, he was a BIG RAT.

<3 <3 You've got this. <3 <3
thank you...i think how hard this is honestly just solidifies how much i probably need to do this, so...yeah. this is gonna be super rough but now that we’ve figured out the “how” of it i really am just trying to get this out of my system as quickly as humanly possible and then just have it ready (i’m planning for it to be within the next few chapters, though, again because now that the plan is made i want to get everything about this the fuck over with). have a lot of very personally relevant music feels lined up already, too. this is going to be an interesting ride. <33333

I think I have spammed this at the Discord Chat at least three times now, but please, if you have not read this, please do. You will 1. Never look at birds the same way again, 2. Have major Anderfeels, and 3. LEAVE FEELING HAUNTED.
PLS READ @the-arkadian‘s FIC. IT’S AMAZING.

All of the Hawke children in my Jay’s family have / had laughs that come straight from the heart, and they all laugh readily (yes even Carver). They also tend to throw back their head when they do, and then curl back forward if they feel like it. Funnily enough, this comes from Leandra and not Malcolm, despite Malcolm being the purple/blue dad. xD
(fun fact I’m telling this fact so I have an excuse to post these laughing curly twins:)
(if they look like Liam O’Brien and Laura Bailey because this was part of a series of scribbles where DA peeps laugh in a pile like critrole actors and I couldn’t find a good balance between ref and OTHER ref xD)
the-arkadian replied to your photo “Today’s stream resulted in a gentle Anders and some forget-me-nots!...”
I think Jay put the crown on Anders' head the moment he sat up, still sleep-fuddled, and now Jay just can't stop grinning because Anders looks so cute, his eyes still unfocused and half-full of dreams, not quite awake as he gazes at Jay, the blanket slipping off one shoulder, the early morning light glinting gold in his hair and gilding the edges of the petals of the flowers in his hair. :-)
awwww yesss! ^u^<3 Jay’s been awake because he had the last watch maybe, or maybe Anders just was so tired and felt safe enough to sleep longer than him (though based on the picture this can’t be very late in any case).
